STEAM Learning in Kindergarten
At GEMS Preschool, Pune, our Kindergarten STEAM program — integrating Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics — builds curiosity, creativity, and critical thinking in young learners. Through hands-on exploration and theme-based learning, children discover how the world works while building skills that prepare them for primary school and beyond.
Science
Children explore concepts like floating and sinking, plant growth, or magnetism through experiments and observation. Activities such as mixing colours, water cycle demonstrations, or life cycle projects help them connect real-world experiences to scientific thinking.
Technology
Through age-appropriate tools like magnifying glasses, projectors, educational tablets, or even simple devices such as cameras, children learn how technology helps us explore, create, and solve problems.
Engineering
Children engage in block building, bridge construction with straws, or creating ramps for toy cars — identifying problems, designing solutions, and testing their ideas through play.
Arts
Through drawing, painting, music, dance, and craftwork, children express creativity and emotion. They might create art from recycled materials, story-based puppets, or festival-themed crafts that connect art with culture and imagination.
Mathematics
Concepts like sorting, counting, measuring, and pattern recognition are explored through number games, puzzles, shape hunts, and hands-on math stations — making numeracy engaging and meaningful.
Our curriculum in Pune uses STEAM-based early learning to build 21st-century skills — helping children grow as confident thinkers, creators, and problem-solvers in a joyful, nurturing environment.
